Latest Songs and/or Sermons
In this section, I hope to keep a flowing list of songs and sermons that may appeal to the current experiences of a person and perhaps even be helpful as an outreach tool.
For example:
If you are a guy who has accepted Christ and wants to win back his ex-wife or girlfriend - "Baby, Won't You Go To Church With Me"
If you are someone who has fallen away from a relationship with Jesus and what to return to Him - "I Turn My Face To You"
I'll be adding more as we go.

Where I'm Ministering Currently
I'm currently serving the Lord in a small church located in Pleasant Hill CA, an independent non-demoninational church - First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill. After over 30 years of pastoral ministry and serving as Senior Pastor of a Free Methodist church in Pleasant Hill for 23 years, I retired. I continued to keep listening for how the Holy Spirit would lead and guide in my search for what He had for me next. My amazing wife, Linda, and I both felt we needed to find a place where we could help meet some of the church needs. He led us to First Christian Church and we have been there over 6 months at this writing. We are helping with worship and facility needs and the Lord is blessing. Thanks for bringing FCC before the Lord as the church leadership grapples with changes brought on by covid and the subsequent ripple effect of disconnection from the Body of Christ, the church. Browse for the church title and you can learn more, thanks!
I also perform and/or speak on occasion and can be booked or contacted at rob.baker.rlb@gmail.com.
If you have become less connected or disconnected from your local church family, please understand that this is exactly what the scriptures warn us about and that belonging to a healthy church is a critical part of being a healthy, strong Christian. God has given you gifts to use for His glory and He is serious about us sharing our gifts with those who are His children and those who may choose to accept Him as Lord and Savior. Ask yourself, "Does God want me to be part of His Body, His Bride - His church?" He'll make the "yes!" very clear to you if you sincerely ask.
Important things for me to share with you
Periodically, I'll be sharing some key definitions and concepts regarding spiritual health from this page.
The first subject about which I'd like to share is prayer. So many people define prayer as "talking to God". It's not that it's wrong, but a lot of people have this as the overall definition of prayer. The biblically correct meaning of prayer is that prayer is 99% LISTENING.
Have you ever heard someone "pray" and they start out by saying, in essence, "Hello God, it's me. I wanted to let You know what's going on with me and what I want from You." So this is a problem because it shows that the person doesn't really understand the purpose and power of biblical prayer. I've led many Prayer Conferences in my years as a pastor. It's always been fun to ask at the beginning, "How many of you have ever informed God of something He didn't already know?" I've never had a person seriously raise their hand. Of course, if a person understands the all-knowing nature of God, then they understand that He knows what we need before we ask Him. He knows our thoughts before they are formed in our minds and spoken by our lips, and He knows what we truly need better than we know ourselves. So then, it makes little sense to define prayer as "informing" God or telling Him stuff He already knows. Total waste of time.
Instead, the proper experience of prayer is one of LISTENING. It is an experience in hearing FROM God, not speaking TO God. Prayer is often used to speak to God if we are worshipping Him. When we thank Him for our meals and blessings, we often do it in the manner of prayer, but by definition, we are actually praising Him and expressing our love to Him. This is worship.
Take some time to simply present "stuff" to Him, saying, "You know all this, Lord, so I'm going to be listening throughout my day for what You have to say to my spirit about this - or anything else I should be hearing from You." It's awesome.
